First to Know

I got a message from Barack Obama’s campaign manager today informing me that I could be the first to know who the Democrat chooses to be his running mate. I will be notified in a text message. All I had to do was sign up for it.
I’m pretty sure, though, that he sent the same invitation to thousands and maybe millions of others, even though it was addressed to “Jim.”
Now I have to hope that my reporting skills will be better than those of the average Obama supporter with a cell phone.
