Most of the area is getting a break from the steady rain. There are a few patches of rain east and southeast of Indianapolis. Right now the rain is falling across parts of Rush county moving northwest toward Shelbyville. There is another round of rain coming out of Cincinnati. This will move over Greensburg, Connersville and Richmond.

Right now the heavy rain is falling across southern and western Illinois and eastern Missouri. The center of this developing storm system will spin to our west through mid-week. An area of high pressure will build across the northeast and keep the rain producing low close enough for rain chances.

Scattered showers and highs in the low 50s are in the forecast for Tuesday. Right now, Forecast 8 is timing the steadiest rain locally for Tuesday night and early Wednesday.

The weather pattern remains unsettled and cool.

Forecast 8 is tracking an area of low pressure that will continue to bring rain chances to the area through mid-week. There will be clouds this evening and overnight, along with a few showers. Right now the heaviest rain will fall just to our west.

As high pressure builds across the northeastern part of the county, the area of low pressure will get stuck and the chance for rain will linger into mid-week.

With clouds and the chance for rain, temperatures will be cool.

It is a cloudy and cool and damp Monday. Temperatures are only in the upper 40s and lower 50s and there are a few showers. The steadier rain right now is across Illinois, but it moves our way for tonight and Tuesday. Keep the jackets and the umbrellas handy through mid-week.

It will be a mild weekend, with highs as much as 10-15 degrees above average.

Most of the weekend will be dry too. Expect a mix of sun and clouds on Saturday.

As a cold front arrives, clouds will be thicker on Sunday. Right now the latest timing of the rain is late Sunday. Expect a few showers by Sunday evening. Rain chances will linger into next week and it will be cooler, as highs drop back into the 50s.

It will be a mild weekend with high temperatures 10-15 degrees above average.

The average high is now in the lower 50s.
A few clouds are in the forecast tonight. These are not rain producing clouds, so our Friday night will be dry. Forecast lows are in the 40s.

Expect a mix of sun and clouds on Saturday, with highs in the 60s.

Forecast 8 is tracking a storm system for the end of the weekend. Right now the early part of Sunday will be dry, with rain chances arriving later in the day. Ahead of the cold front, highs will reach the upper 50s and lower 60s.

The better chance for widespread rain is in the forecast for early next week, along with cooler temperatures in the lower 50s.

Just a few clouds are in the forecast for this afternoon. There isn’t any rain with the clouds and temperatures are mild and about 10 degrees above the average of 53. Highs will be in the 60s to start the weekend, but the weekend will end with rain chances.

There are a few clouds over central Indiana now. Those clouds will keep temperatures from falling too far overnight. Forecast lows are in the 30s to around 40 degrees. Sunshine is on the way for Friday, as highs reach the 60s.

Here are the hometown highs for Friday and Saturday.

Saturday will be dry, with some sun. The clouds will get thicker, as a storm system approaches. This developing storm system will bring rain chances to the area on Sunday. The better chance for a steady rain is early next week.

Clear skies are in the forecast overnight, as temperatures fall into the upper 30s and lower 40s. High pressure dominating our weather pattern will keep central Indiana dry and mild through the start of the weekend.

With more sunshine in the forecast for Friday, high temperatures will be even warmer. Forecast highs are in the 60s for Friday afternoon and about 10 degrees above the average of 53.

Skies will be mostly sunny Friday, but notice the clouds to our west…that is the leading edge of a developing storm system that will have a local impact toward the end of the weekend.

The weekend will start dry and end with the chance for rain, but the better chance for rain arrives early next week. Stay tuned for updates on timing and how much rain.

It is another sunny day across central Indiana. Temperatures right now are in the 50s, but should inch closer to 60 degrees this afternoon. Expect mostly clear skies tonight and lows near 40 degrees. A gradual warm-up is still in the forecast through the start of the weekend, but Forecast 8 is also tracking some changes for early next week.
