March 3rd, 2010 at 4:58 am by Ken Brewer under Weather

THIS MORNING: With clearing skies overnight, temperatures dropped down into the mid 20’s.  So it will be a bit colder at the bus stop and for your trip into work this morning.

REST OF TODAY:  High pressure will continue to build into the state.  Milder air from the west will continue to track in our direction.  The result should be another day in the low 40’s, with some places hitting the mid 40’s.

Expected highs may have to be bumped a degree or two this afternoon.  Most places that have snow pack will continue to see slow melting not only today, but for the rest of the week.

Quiet, Cool Monday

March 1st, 2010 at 5:17 am by Ken Brewer under Weather

THIS MORNING: Temperatures are in the low 30’s in most places, and should stay near that mark for the kids at the bus stop.  There is a bit of a breeze, so it will feel like the mid 20’s.

REST OF TODAY: Pesky clouds will linger as another weak upper-level disturbance slides south towards Indiana. There may be a couple of flurries, otherwise we will see a cool day for the 1st of March.  Highs will hit the upper 30’s.

Drizzle for Your Sunday?

February 28th, 2010 at 6:44 am by Ken Brewer under Weather

THIS MORNING: Watch for some freezing drizzle until temperatures get above freezing.

Morning_Planner

TODAY: After a less than perfect start, temperatures should climb above freezing and keep any flurries or drizzle from freezing.  However, it looks like the pesky moisture will linger and make for a kind of gloomy day.  Highs should hit the mid 30’s.

MONDAY: Not much change in the weather pattern.  There may be some flurries or snow showers in northern parts of the viewing area, otherwise, just cool again.

Freezing Drizzle This Morning?

February 28th, 2010 at 5:48 am by Ken Brewer under Weather

Some light drizzle is falling across the area this morning, and with temperatures at or below freezing, we have had some patches or ice form on some roadways.  This will be a possibility for a few more hours until temperatures get above freezing for everyone.

Mid-Morning Weather Update

February 27th, 2010 at 9:57 am by Ken Brewer under Weather

Watch for some scattered snow showers to re-develop later today as another trough associated with the east coast storm will swing through the state.  Hard to nail down new snows from this one, but some places could see an additional inch of snow this afternoon and tonight.

More Winter Weather Today?

February 27th, 2010 at 6:53 am by Ken Brewer under Weather

TODAY: The strong storm system in the NE will continue to have a bit of an impact on our weather today.  We could see pockets of flurries and snow showers form again by afternoon and evening.

Micro_1 Micro_2 adi_highs_today

SNOWFALL POTENTIAL: Additional snow totals will be about 1″ or less in most places.  Here is a map of the latest projections which includes the snow from last night.

THIS EVENING: There may be some flurries and snow showers around, so keep that in mind if you plan to head out.

Micro_3 Evening

SUNDAY: The Northeast Winter Storm will start to move out to sea, so it will take our lousy weather away slowly as well.  We will see lingering clouds, maybe a flurry.  Highs will hit the mid to upper 30’s.
