The latest satellite picture indicates sunshine continuing into this afternoon. Forecast 8 Vipir radar is showing a band of rain and snow showers along a cold front in the Plains States. This should arrive tomorrow night. Meanwhile, have a great afternoon.

Tracking a Weekend Storm

This afternoon will be wonderful with lots of sunshine and mild temperatures. Highs will climb into the upper 60s. Better enjoy this afternoon as a new storm will move in for Saturday night and Sunday.

Most of Saturday should be dry. However, a cold front will bring in some clouds and we could see a few showers late tomorrow afternoon. Sunday looks like a very wet day with much cooler temperatures.

Sunshine Today, Weekend Changes

Today will be another great day with lots of sunshine and highs in the upper 60s. We hit 66 degrees on Thursday. Our normal high is now 53.

A cold front will slowly sag down across the state on Saturday. This will bring the threat for showers late Saturday afternoon. Much cooler air will move in for Sunday along with a better chance of rain. Some wet snow may mix in with the rain Sunday night into Monday morning. Right now, no accumulation is expected.

A reminder that Spring begins at 1:32 Saturday afternoon. Yeah!

A Touch of Spring!

High pressure will continue to produce some sunshine and mild temperatures through Friday. Highs this afternoon and tomorrow should climb into the mid-upper 60s. Our normal high is now 52 degrees.

Our next storm should arrive for the latter portion of the weekend. The models keep taking the low pressure system farther to the south which means a better chance for accumulating snow across northern Indiana on Sunday. I have included a snowfall potential map which indicates a 10% chance of at least 4″ or more of snow across the northern portions of the state on Sunday. Total precipitation from the storm may exceed an inch of liquid by Monday morning.

Another Beautiful Day

We are getting off to a great start on this Thursday morning. Look for lots of sunshine and highs climbing into the middle 60s.

As we head into the weekend a new storm will roll into the Ohio Valley. The computer models keep taking this storm farther to the south. Showers & storms Saturday night may change to a wet snow on Sunday. Portions of northern Indiana could see some minor accumulation as we head into Sunday evening.

I had a great time at Heritage Christian School yesterday. Here is a picture of their Kindergarten Class.

Statewide Tornado Drill Today

The statewide tornado drill will take place twice today. The first one will be between 10:15 and 10:30 this morning and the 2nd drill between 7:30 and 7:45pm. The weather should be great with sunshine and mild temperatures.

The weather should be sunny and mild through Friday. A rather potent storm will move into the region this weekend. Showers and storms will develop by Saturday night and then change over to wet snow on Sunday as colder air moves in.

A Great Day

The latest satellite picture is showing some sunshine across the Ohio Valley this morning. Partly sunny skies should continue into this afternoon with highs in the upper 50s. Our quiet weather pattern will continue into Friday. Highs will climb a few degrees each day.

Our next storm will arrive this weekend. Right now it appears that most of Saturday should be dry. However, by Saturday night showers and thunderstorms will develop across the region. We will have to watch out as there could be the potential for some strong storms depending on the track of low pressure. A heavy snow band will fall to the northwest of the low pressure center. Our rain may change to snow showers on Sunday. We will track this storm over the next few days.

Nice Weather Coming Our Way

High pressure building into the region will dominate the weather scene for the next few days. Highs today will climb into the upper 50s with a partly sunny sky. The bus stop this morning should be dry with temperatures in the upper 30s.

St. Patrick’s Day should be great with lots of sunshine and highs near 60 degrees. The warming trend will continue into the first part of the weekend. A strong storm will push into the Ohio Valley Saturday and Sunday. Right now, it appears thunderstorms will be possible Saturday night changing to snow flurries on Sunday as much colder air follows in behind the storm. I will have more on this later this morning.

A reminder that the statewide tornado drill is tomorrow. Also, did you know that we have had more snow this year than Fairbanks, Alaska?

Cloud Cover Hanging Tough

The latest satellite picture indicates low clouds remaining over the Ohio Valley. High pressure should clear our skies later tonight paving the way for nice weather the next several days.

A look ahead indicates a strong front moving into the region on Saturday. An area of low pressure may form along the front enhancing our rainfall potential. Once the front moves through, much colder air will follow in for next week. I have included a rainfall potential map from 7am Thursday to 7am Saturday. Also check out the 6 to 10 day outlook. Winter is trying to hang on for awhile.
