Dense fog has been slow to lift across Indiana this morning. As a result, the National Weather Service has extended the Dense Fog Advisory until 11am. I still expect some afternoon sunshine.

A Dense Fog Advisory continues until 10am this morning. Once the fog lifts, skies should become partly sunny with highs in the 50s.

Latest visibilities have gone down to a quarter mile in Marion County. Allow extra time if heading off to work or school. The fog should burn off after 9am.

Watch Out For Early Morning Fog

The good news is the rain has come to an end. The bad news is we have areas of dense fog. Visibilities are down to a quarter mile in some spots. Once the fog burns off, skies will become partly sunny and highs will climb into the lower 50s.

The weekend should be nice with mainly dry conditions. Moisture passing to our south may produce a few sprinkles Sunday afternoon. I would not cancel plans as most of the weekend should be dry.

Light Rain Moving Into Central Indiana

Vipir Radar is showing rain spreading into central Indiana as of mid-morning. The showers should be light with most areas receiving under .10″. Highs will stay in the 40s.

The National Weather Service just put out their December and Winter outlooks. No changes were made to the Winter Outlook which originally came out last month.

One More Damp Day

Forecast 8 VIPIR Radar is indicating a batch of showers across Illinois this morning. This is beneath an upper level low. As it moves to the east I expect scattered showers to develop across Indiana today. It will be chilly with highs in the upper 40s.

High pressure will clear our skies late tonight setting the stage for a nice weekend. Look for some sunshine and highs in the middle 50s. Our normal high is now 50 degrees.

Check this out. In Barrow, Alaska the sun set at 1:41 yesterday afternoon. The next sunrise is January 23rd at 1:29pm. Wow. That is a long night!

A Few Afternoon Showers

An upper level low will continue to produce scattered showers this afternoon. Highs will climb into the low 50s. The showers on VIPIR Radar are moving to the northwest around the upper low. More stable air should arrive for Friday and the weekend.

Forecast 8 Vipir Radar is showing more showers across Indiana this morning. Take the rain gear if heading off to work or school. It will be another cool day with highs in the low 50s.

Low pressure will finally move out on Friday setting the stage for a nice weekend. We should see some sun and highs in the 50s Saturday and Sunday.

Rain Continues To Our North

Forecast 8 Vipir Radar continues to show a band of rain across north central Indiana. This rain area has been there all morning and should remain there through this afternoon. Lafayette has reported over 1″ of rain since Sunday. It appears that we all should get in on the rain shield late tonight and Tuesday. In fact, rainfall totals may exceed 1″ in many spots by Wednesday morning.
