Heavy snow now across much of Central Indiana, intensity consistent through the day. South some rain mixing with snow.
Heavy snow now across the western half of Indiana with a band just west of Indy. Snowfall rates are going to pick up to 1″-2″ per hour.
Warm air is intruding on the southern side of this storm system and that means the southern half of Central Indiana is starting with a bit of a mix of rain and sleet. Northwestern Indiana has been seeing most of the snow so far today. The snow will build in through the morning, reports of flakes reaching Morgan Co. right now but drier air keeping it away so far. Expecting snow to begin in Indy area by 6-7 am and pick up in intensity to 1″-2″ per hour at times. Greatest accumulations will take place 7am-7pm. Totals of 8″-12″ still likely from along I-70 and northward…lower totals in the 4″-8″ range south of the I-70 corridor.

Temperatures are in the low to mid 80s all the way down into the 70s. Humidity levels have improved from this morning with winds now out of the northeast continuing to pump in drier air.
This evening temperatures will be mild, dropping through the 70s!
Temperatures have warmed to the mid- upper 70s. High temps today will elevate to the mid 80s. Rain is holding off for now but storm chances will move in later today and tonight, but not everyone will see the rain.
The very first part of our Winter Storm quickly dusted parts of central Indiana this morning with around an inch of snow.
Forecast 8 Vipir Radar shows that area of snow retreating to the northeast, but don’t be fooled – there’s plenty more to come. The heaviest snowfall will arrive this evening.
Snow Downtown Indy, also stretching east and north. Only minor accumulations so far. The larger part of this storm is still in Missouri, and will be here with the heaviest snow this afternoon and overnight.
Temperatures have dropped into the low to mid 30s. Lows tonight will drop to around 30. Rain is still a state away but will push into southern Indiana by the morning. Rain should reach Indy by mid to late morning.
