Blizzard warning for Central Indiana from very early Wednesday through 7PM. Heavy snow and strong wind is what is prompting the warning. Definition of blizzard is storm with sustained or gusting wind to 35 mph or higher…that we will have. Also definition includes considerable snow which will reduce visibility to 1/4 mile or less…we will have that as well. Snow totals are not locked in even now.

Rain and freezing rain/sleet is wrapping around system. We believe there will be enough cooling as storm moves in to produce all snow for most of the area…only difference will be southern part. Mix could cut down on snow totals significantly however if is stays all snow in those areas we could see the 5″-12″ band cover a larger area. In the Indianapolis metro area we will most likely stay all snow and therefore snow totals could push 8″-10″ potentially. We could get as much as 1″-3″ by 8am in the morning with totals skyrocketing from there.

Stay tuned, we will have updates through out the night…Daybreak will start at 4AM and we will stay on top of the storm throughout the day.

Temperatures this evening will stay mild in the 40s, then we will drop to the mid to upper 30s for overnight lows tonight…not quite as chilly.

Tomorrow temperatures will again be on the mild side and above average. Temperatures will be near 50º for highs tomorrow. Rain showers will begin in the morning and we could see a few thunderstorms during the day Saturday as well.

This weekend will be a wet one once again. Sunday looks to be the better of the two weather-wise. We will be a bit warmer and the showers will become more spotty.

After the rainy weekend, we have chances at the beginning of next week for snow! We could see a rain/snow mix late Monday night turning into snow showers by Tuesday. Temperatures afterward will climb from the 30s back into the 40s towards the end of the week, where we could again see more snow chances.
