INDIANAPOLIS (December 26, 2012) – Due to poor road conditions on the city’s northwest side, IndyGo routes 5 and 28 are detoured.

Route 5 will not serve beyond 30th and Clifton Streets near Riverside Park.

Route 28 will not serve Spring Mill Road and will instead use Meridian Street between 64th Street and Kessler Boulevard.

Several IndyGo routes are running 15 to 50 minutes late. No service has been cancelled, but some rush hour trips may not operate out of downtown.

IndyGo Bus Service Delays and Detours

INDIANAPOLIS (December 26, 2012) – As of 9:30 a.m., several buses on IndyGo routes are running between 10 minutes and 30 minutes late. Routes 5, 19, 24, 25 and 30 are seeing delays closer to 20 minutes on some trips.

IndyGo transportation supervisors are working with radio control to keep customers and employees safe. Route 5 on the northwest side will terminate its westbound service at 30th and Clifton due to dangerous road conditions in the neighborhoods near Riverside Park. This detour is in effect until further notice.

It will not be possible for vehicles to cross the route while runners are on the street in the area. All traffic should avoid the race course area during the times noted. West Street will remain open for both northbound and southbound traffic throughout the event with some short closures for 5K participants to cross the street. Metered parking along the route will be restricted. Street closures will impact on-time performance for scheduled bus service, so IndyGo reminds passengers that selecting an earlier scheduled bus trip is advisable. IndyGo Customer Service is available by phone at 317.635.3344 Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to noon.

Downtown streets along the route in the area south of Market Street will be closed or restricted approximately 8 – 9 a.m. due to this event. Athletes should clear the area and all streets will be open to traffic south of Market Street in the SouthWest and SouthEast quadrants by 9 a.m. Streets in the NorthEast Quadrant of Downtown will be clear of athletes by 9:30 a.m.

Downtown streets on the route in the NorthWest Quadrant will be closed or restricted approximately 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. due to this event. The event will end by 2:30 p.m. with all streets open by 3 p.m.
