Weekend Forecast

The weekend is here and so is a dry weather pattern. Skies will be partly cloudy through early Saturday. Forecast lows are in the 30s and highs in the 50s.

Expect a mix of sun and clouds on Saturday and Sunday.

There will be a few more clouds on Sunday, but temperatures stay above the average by about 5 degrees.

Stay with Forecast 8 into the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, as we track a developing weather system. Right now the rain will arrive on Tuesday and there will be some wet roads for the busy travel day on Wednesday. Stay tuned for any and all updates.

Finally Dry

After 4 days in a row with rain, the weather pattern is finally dry. Skies will be partly cloudy this evening and overnight, as lows are forecast near 40 degrees. With some sun, highs rebound into the middle 50s. Highs on Saturday and Sunday will be about 5 degrees above average for late November.

The weekend weather pattern will be dry too. Here is the latest analysis with Forecast 8 Futurecast.

There is a slight chance for a few sprinkles on Sunday, but the better chance for rain won’t arrive until Tuesday of next week. This developing storm system will be something that the Forecast 8 team tracks closely. Right now is scheduled to bring rain chance to the area on Tuesday, with a blast of colder on the way for Thanksgiving. This will have an impact as you travel for the holiday, so stay tuned for any and all updates.

The fog has moved out and the sunshine is back in the forecast! Finally! We have has several days of clouds and dreary weather, now the sunshine is back just in time for the weekend!!

Second Chance for Palin Autograph

If you missed getting an autographed book from Sarah Palin and still desire one, the ARC of Indiana has a proposition for you.

A Palin signed book is up for auction at www.arcind.org where an Obama signed book went for $700 last year. Sally Morris of ARC would love to see a competition for the highest bid. While in Noblesville, meantime, Palin met with an ARC board member and his family.

Dense Fog Advisory Extended Until 11am

Dense fog has been slow to lift across Indiana this morning. As a result, the National Weather Service has extended the Dense Fog Advisory until 11am. I still expect some afternoon sunshine.

Reminder for Runners

The 500 Festival sent a press release, this morning, reminding runners and walkers of its “Early Bird Special.” That’s a lower price for entering the Mini-Marathon before the end of this month. Here’s part of the message:

The early registration fee of $50 is set to expire on November 30. From December 1, 2009 through January 31, 2010, registration reverts back to the regular $70. Registration will close on January 31, 2010 or the date the maximum field of 35,000 participants is reached.”

As further encouragement, the Festival office reminds all of us: the race has sold out the last eight years.

A Dense Fog Advisory continues until 10am this morning. Once the fog lifts, skies should become partly sunny with highs in the 50s.

Latest visibilities have gone down to a quarter mile in Marion County. Allow extra time if heading off to work or school. The fog should burn off after 9am.
