New Weather Page

Over the past two weeks, we’ve been putting the final tweaks on our new main weather page layout. This afternoon we made that page live. Our goal of this new look is to provide you a simple weather snapshot of what going on now and what’s going to happen in the near future. We’ve also lowered the amount of tabs on the main page to speed up page load time.

We haven’t taken any maps away, in fact we’ve added several new ones. Click the “more” link below to see what maps are now available and where to find them.

We are also getting ready to unveil a new school/business closings page format that will make it much easier to find out if your school or business has been closed or delayed. Look for that in the next few weeks.

If you have thoughts, feedback etc. about the new page format, leave a message in the comments section. While we can’t accommodate every suggestion or request we do read them and use them in building a better WISHTV.com.

Spotty Showers Overnight

Most of the late afternoon and evening activity has been in eastern and NE parts of the state. That will move out overnight, but additional pockets of rain will develop from time to time overnight. One of those pockets is in southern Indiana now, and that is drifting to the north. They should lose some steam as they move.

Rain Chances Continue for Labor Day

THIS EVENING: Spotty showers will continue across the area, but many places will stay dry as well. In fact, activities at ORP should be okay for most of the night. The concentrations of light showers look to be mainly east of the metro area.

OVERNIGHT: rain will become light and more isolated overnight as we lose the daytime warming hours. In spite of this, we have to keep some rain chances in place. Lows will drop into the low to mid 60’s.

LABOR DAY: The unsettled weather pattern will continue so keep rain gear handy. Rain patterns will be scattered and off and on throughout the day. Highs will only hit the upper 70’s to lower 80’s.

TUESDAY: More of the same, scattered rain chances. In fact, rain chances will stick around every day through next weekend.

Mid-Afternoon Weather Update

The pockets of rain are slowly moving out of southern and western Indiana. Some sunshine and warmer air is moving into those places. Temperatures with all of the cloud cover are getting into the mid to upper 70’s.

Spotty Light Showers Overnight

Expect to see a few sprinkles and light showers overnight. The upper-low will stay close enough to keep the scattered pockets of rain in place tomorrow.

Rain Chances for the Rest of the Holiday Weekend

TONIGHT: Spotty pockets of light showers will dot the area tonight, lows will only drop into the low to mid 60’s.

SUNDAY: Upper-level disturbance will inch closer and pockets of rain will arrive. While we shouldn’t see all-day rain, there will be a chance that your outdoor activities will have a visit from a brief shower.

LABOR DAY: Even higher chances of rain across the state. Keep rain gear handy as there will be rain showers off and on throughout the day. Highs will hit the 80 degree mark in most places.

Rain is staying away from us in Illinois, but rain chances will arrive tonight and last through the rest of the holiday weekend.

Pretty Nice Afternoon

It looks like most of the rain will stay west of us this afternoon, so enjoy the nice weather! Temperatures are steadily climbing and should hit the low 80’s by this afternoon.

Decent Start to Holiday Weekend

THIS MORNING: A little bit of light fog in spots, otherwise it will be a quiet morning.

TODAY: Weather should be pretty quiet today. We are keeping our eye on a weak, but pesky rain-maker out to our west. It will inch closer to us today, but the rain chances should hold off until this evening. Highs should hit the low 80’s in most places.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS HERE! Purdue and Notre Dame have home games today, and the weather should be great. Temperatures should hit the upper 70’s to lower 80’s.

INDIANS GAME THIS EVENING: A few spotty showers could pop-up this evening, so keep your umbrellas handy just in case.

SUNDAY: Spotty showers and a few rumbles of thunder are possible off and on. Again, take rain gear with you, but hopefully you won’t need it all day.

LABOR DAY: Probably the highest chances of rain this holiday weekend as the core of the weak weather system will arrive. Hopefully not an all-day rain event, but you should keep rain gear handy.
