Warmer Weather On The Way!

TODAY: The cold-core upper-level low pressure system will finally loosen its grip across the region and slide to the east. This will allow for some milder air to return, though we will still be a touch below normal for this time of year. One more weak trough will slide through as the system exits, so we will keep a chance of a few stray showers in, but overall, it should be drier than yesterday.

TONIGHT: A milder, quiet night with lows in the lower 40’s and maybe a few upper 30’s.

THURSDAY: Warmer air will surge into the state, and bump highs into the 70’s, with plenty of sunshine.

FRIDAY: Even nicer, and a taste of summer! Highs should hit the low 80’s!

Milder Weather Returns

TODAY: The strong upper-level low pressure system will loosen its grip over us just a bit and allow for some milder air to return. Highs will still be just a bit below normal. But you combine the milder air with some lighter winds, it will feel much more comfortable today.

THURSDAY: Milder air will mean no freeze conditions Thursday morning. The rest of the day should be mild. Our next weather maker will arrive by Thursday night, and give us some rain chances, but most places should stay dry.

FRIDAY: A messy and stormy day, as the storm system will pass over us. We could see some heavy rain and storms.

Mid-Morning Update

After some patchy frost this morning, afternoon numbers look to be in good shape. Expect highs in the upper 50’s to low 60’s.

A reminder that today is much better than tomorrow for outdoor activities. We still have a slight risk of severe weather tomorrow from Indy to areas southward.

With plenty of mild March sunshine, temperatures should climb into the mid to upper 50’s. Milder air will continue to stream into the state throughout the afternoon.

Nice Weather Today

TODAY: After a raw Sunday, weather should improve greatly today. Sunshine will return for most of the day, and milder air will race back in. Highs will hit the mid to upper 50’s in most locations.

TONIGHT: Some clouds will creep back in tonight, but it should be dry, and mild. Lows will only dip into the low 40’s in most places.

TUESDAY: Another weather system will race into the state, and that will mean scattered showers and a few storms by the afternoon. As of now, it looks like the threat of severe weather will steer clear of us, but we will keep you posted. Highs will hit the lower 60’s.

WEDNESDAY: Weather will improve, and slightly cooler air will arrive again. Highs will hit the mid to upper 50’s.

Mid-Morning Weather Update

We’ve seen a few sprinkles in western Indiana, but they are few and far between. In addition, they are moving NNE, so the metro area should stay dry for most of the day.

Temperatures continue to warm up with a little sun peeking through. Temperatures range from the mid to upper 40’s to mid to upper 50’s.

TODAY: The storm system to our south will continue to slowly pull away. Mild air will continue to filter in and highs should hit the mid to upper 50’s in most locations. Expect clouds to mix with sun off and on today.

MONDAY: Temperatures should continue to climb with dry weather. Highs should top 60 in most locations, and again, other than some clouds mixing in, it should be a dry day.

Few Flurries Ending, Warm-Up Continues

The spotty flurries with the jet stream should move out, and they are already falling apart. Temperatures are already warmer than yesterday’s highs in many places, and we will only climb from there.

Milder Weather Arrives Today

Temperatures have stayed a touch below expected over the past several days as cold air has lingered, but that should change today.

TODAY: Warmer air has already arrived. Overnight lows in the mid to upper 20’s are replacing the low teens of the past several days. Some clouds are here with the jet stream as it lifts to the north. By this afternoon, milder air and more sunshine should arrive. Most places should hit the mid to upper 40’s this afternoon.

TONIGHT: The warming trend will continue, and lows will only drop down into the mid 30’s.

THURSDAY: As Gulf moisture moves into the state, we could see a stray shower or 2, but the mild weather will still be the big story. Highs will hit the mid to upper 50’s.

FRIDAY: 60 degrees!!!!! Warmer air will surge into the state. But we could see a few spotty showers as well.

One More Chilly Day

TODAY: The jet stream is still well to our south, so the flow of cold Canadian air continues for one more day. Highs today should be warmer then the upper 20’s we saw on Monday, but still below normal for this date. We should make it into the mid 30’s in most places, which is still about 10 degrees below normal.

TONIGHT: Milder air will slowly creep in and overnight lows will be slightly milder.

WEDNESDAY: Finally, near-normal temperatures! Warmer southerly winds at the low levels of the atmosphere combined with the jet stream moving back north will add up to near-normal temperatures.

THURSDAY: Balmy air will arrive, and highs will get into the mid to upper 50’s. With a strong southerly flow, and more moisture arriving, we may see a stray shower or 2.
