TODAY: After starting off in the lower teens…highs will struggle to hit 30 in most locations. At least we will see decent sunshine across most of the state. Winds will be a bit lighter than what we saw this past weekend.

TONIGHT: Another cold night is in store, with lows again dropping into the low to mid teens.

TUESDAY: The cold air will start to slide off to our east, and temperatures will start to recover a bit. Highs will improve into the mid to upper 30’s which will still be about 10 degrees below normal.

WEDNESDAY: The warming trend will continue. Highs will reach near-normal values in the mid 40’s.

TODAY: Highs should make it to the lower 50’s for most of Indiana, as warm SW winds and a upper-level ridge of high pressure will slide through the region.

TONIGHT: The mild and dry weather will continue. Overnight lows will only drop into the lower 40’s.

THURSDAY: A cold front will approach the state, but stall out before it can pass through. This will allow for mild temperatures to continue, but it will also destabilize the atmosphere. Another wave of low pressure will develop along the stalled out front. This wave will eventually kick the front through, but it could trigger some severe storms in the process. Damaging wind and large hail are the biggest threats.

Here are maps of the severe weather risk and rainfall potential:

FRIDAY: After some early morning storms, cooler weather will arrive behind the front, and highs will slide back into the mid 40’s.

TODAY: High pressure in the Upper Midwest will slide in our direction today. This will lighten up the winds a bit, and slowly shut down the cold air faucet. Chilly air will linger today, and highs will still be well below normal, in the upper 20’s to lower 30’s.

TUESDAY: As the high pressure slide east, warmer winds from the south will kick in, and a warm-up will begin. Highs on Tuesday will be closer to normal for this time of year. With the southerly winds, we will see some more clouds move into the state.

WEDNESDAY: One more dry day with warmer air. Highs will hit the upper 40’s to around 50 in most locations.

TODAY: The core of the latest round of chilly air has settled into the state. This will bring the winter-like wind and cool air. Highs will only hit the mid 20’s in most places, but winds howling at around 25 miles per hour will make it feel like the teens. We could see some lingering flurries or a few light snow showers from time to time.

MONDAY: Weather will slowly improve starting on Monday as the core of the cold air will slowly start to exit the region. Highs will still be below normal in the upper 20’s to lower 30’s.

TUESDAY: Warmer air will continue to spill in and highs should get close to 40 in many spots. The upper-level system with the core of cold air will slide over to the east coast.

TODAY: A storm system is slowly working through the Midwest, and will spit out some pockets of rain and maybe even a rumble of thunder from time to time. Temperatures will stay mild for one last day, with highs in the mid 40’s. Keep the umbrella handy, but we won’t see an all-day rain or storm event.

TONIGHT: The front will pass through and bitter cold air will arrive overnight. Leftover moisture will convert to snow showers and flurries. Any accumulation should be under 1″. Temperatures will drop into the teens for lows.

THURSDAY: Colder air and flurries will set up shop, and highs will struggle to hit the low to mid 20’s.

TODAY: Warmer southerly winds will arrive into the state today, thanks to a storm system moving our direction out of the Plains states. This should highs back to above normal values. Rain should hold off until tonight, so both commutes should be dry.

TONIGHT: Scattered showers will move in with a warm front tonight. Air should stay warm enough to keep it as rain…northern Indiana could see a brief wintry mix before changing to rain.

WEDNESDAY: We may not see all day rain, but scattered rain, and maybe even a thunderstorm or 2 could occur at any time. Expect one more mild day with highs in the mid 40’s.

THURSDAY: Enter the Arctic Blast! A big shot of colder air arrives and we will see some snow showers off and on. Highs will only hit the low 20’s in most places!
