Scattered Rain Continues

Most of the scattered showers are still in Southern and Eastern parts of the state and moving NE. The good news is that the rain has stopped reforming over the same areas. There are more scattered showers in southern Illinois that will try to enter the state if they hold together. Expect more scattered rain and storms as the day goes on.

Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms continue mainly east and southeast of he city. The line is drifting slowly north, cells are moving NE at about 25 mph.

More Scattered Thundershowers

The broken lines of rain and a few storms continue to pop-up right over the viewing area. They are still hit or miss in nature, but the rain chances will slowly increase this afternoon. Having said that, there may be a few areas that avoid rain all together, but keep the rain gear handy this afternoon.

A Few Sprinkles in Metro Area

As Randy mentioned, keep the rain gear handy especially for later today. You may encounter a few sprinkles this morning in the metro area. Forecast 8 VIPIR has picked up a few sprinkles, but no heavy rain on the way to work.

Pop-Up Shower in Delaware Co.

People near Muncie are seeing a stray shower right now. Now watches or warnings are in effect, but we could see some more scattered storms pop-up later today from NW, then eventually SE. There is still a slight risk of severe weather across most of the state.

We’re heading south on I-65 and it is pouring! There is supposed to be flooding in Franklin and Greenwood. We’re going to check it out.

More Rain South?

Another round of rain is moving into southern parts of the viewing area. There is no severe weaher with this and it should stay south of I-70.

Change in Severe Storm Risk?

The Storm Prediction Center has removed the entire state from the slight risk category. Morning rain has essentially limited some of the severe weather ingredients, but that could change later today.

Current VIPIR imagery shows the swath of rain continuing to shrink in size, with the heaviest rains still south of Indy. Rainfall totals have been spotty with the highest amounts around Brazil.

Rain Area Shrinking

The massive swath of rain is weakening a bit as it moves into the metro area. The heaviest of the rain is SW of Indianapolis, with our Weatherbug Site in Brazil up to .80″ of rain.

The most intense rain and storms will slide to the south of Indy, but there will be some moderate rain with some thunder in most areas.
