August 17th, 2009 at 12:25 pm by Ken Brewer under Weather

The broken lines of rain and a few storms continue to pop-up right over the viewing area.  They are still hit or miss in nature, but the rain chances will slowly increase this afternoon.  Having said that, there may be a few areas that avoid rain all together, but keep the rain gear handy this afternoon.

Early Afternoon Weather Update

August 11th, 2009 at 12:11 pm by Ken Brewer under Weather

A broken line of rain and storms is forming in northern Indiana.  Those are slowly dropping down to the south.  We’ll have to see if they hold together by the time they drift down here.  It would be about an hour or two before those storms would arrive in the metro area.  The threat for severe weather is much lower than yesterday, but we could see a brief gust of wind, and some small hail.

Strong Storms are racing across northern Missouri into central Illinois.  This may more or less connect with the storms that have lingered in areas south of Indy.  The bottom line, watch for storms with heavy rain, large hail, and gusty winds later to
